Today is the second day of the Year of Monkey; the second day of Lunar New Year for the Chinese. Thankfully, we don’t need to go visiting and so I get to relax and laze around and play with my dolls and camera. Something I haven’t got to do for quite a while…so now I’m happy. (^_ ^)
And would like to wish you all good health, prosperity and double happiness in the Year of the Monkey. 恭祝身体健康, 万事如意, 新年快乐!
Today is Yuan Xiao Jie [元宵节], the fifteenth day of the first Lunar month and also the last day of Chinese New Year Celebration.
Yuan Xian is also known as the Lantern Festival. In the past, folks celebrated the festival by going to the temple and streets at night, solving riddles hang from the lanterns [猜灯谜]and eating tang yuan [汤圆] with family.
In my family, we celebrate Yuan Xiao by gathering together for a good steamboat dinner and some wine.
It happens this year’s Yuan Xiao Jie coincides with St. Valentine’s Day. Yuan Xiao is sometimes said to be the Chinese Valentine’s Day.
So on this festive day, I would like to wish you a day filled with love, not just romantic love, but also the love of family and friends, the love of life and the love of self. Happy Yuan Xiao Jie and Happy Valentine. \(^_^)/
In a day’s time, we will be ushering in the Year of the Horse. Lunar New Year is considered a major yearly festival for Chinese. Usually, before the Lunar New Year, there will be spring cleaning, shopping of new stuff and food, preparation for the reunion dinner, going to the temples and even renovation for some.
This year, somehow we are in the mood to celebrate. So the man-in-the-house and I have been doing a lot of shopping, cleaning and decorating of the house. Lots of gold and red ornaments, lanterns, flowers and auspicious couplets now adorn our house. (^_^)
We have been so busy with the house that I just realised that I have totally forgotten about preparing my dolls for Lunar New Year photo shoot. (-___-”)
This is a last minute effort but we still want to wish all especially those who are celebrating Lunar New Year:
大吉大利， 五福临门， 新年快乐。
[Wishing you great luck, great wealth and may the five blessings: longevity, wealth, health, love of virtue and peaceful end, descended upon your house. Happy New Year]
Chinese New Year is just this weekend. We have been busy with the cleaning, shopping and preparation. And there’re still stuff to be done. Then these two came and offered to help.
But I’m not so sure… even though I’d love having a handsome butler and cute maid around…（￣～￣;）ウーン
Hey! Aren’t you guys supposed to be helping out??? ＼(>o<)／
Happy New Year to you all!
Thank you for the Likes and support for the past year. Hope we will continue to enjoy our adventures together.
I was inspired to do a quick sketch of my dolly family on the first day of 2013. Made it into the header for my blog even though it is so-so. (*^-^*)
˜Lucien and Leonie are chasing after the butterfly. Kaoru is making flower crown with Sophia and Momoko. Mikado is napping on Tetsu’s lap. Hane and Kagura are flying kite. Josephine, Nanette and Anna are enjoying their tea.˜
May 2013 be a year full of joy and peace
and as we race around making a living,
may we remember to stop and breathe in the air,
listen to the chirping of the birds,
feel the sun and wind on our skins,
smell the fragrance of the grass and flowers
and hold the hands of our loved ones.
Have a Joyful and Fruitful 2013! ♡ﾐ \(^0^)/ ⌒☆
I have a created a page on Facebook at a request. So here it is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Of-dreams-and-Particles/426417270764128
This is more to share some photos of the stuff I have created and to keep in contact with some of my friends in the dolly community [most of them seem to be on facebook instead of google+].
This is my facebook page cover:
