Dropped by the Azone store in Akihabara recently. Don’t you think these are cute? I was quite keen to bring one home but man-in-the-house said no…and highlighted my dollies at home….so, I brought photos back. (^_^)
These range from 22cm to 50cm. I think the small ones are pureneemo 1/6 fashion doll…those in the 3rd to 4th photos are featured in the recently Dollybird magazine. They are on sale now but a couple are already sold out.
Azone allows photograph of their display unlike Volks. I dropped by Volks also to pick up some stuff. The dolls on display are beautiful but no photograph is allowed… (T_T)
I have this packet of neutral coloured pom pom for quite some time not knowing what to do with them. Yes. I bought them simply because I like them. (^_~) Recently when I was making this one-piece for Haru, I suddenly thought why not use the pom pom instead of the ribbon in the original design?
This is the outcome. Not too bad, I think. (^_^)
Making a new outfit for her based on a pattern from the most recent Dollybird magazine. Chika is wearing the white underdress. The outer dress is still WIP. (^_^;;)
The progress is slow because I have been feeling fatigue. It’s Dec already but the weather is still hot and humid. In fact, very humid. This year is very different from the previous. The days are hot mostly. Dark clouds will sometimes appear. Then the air becomes stuffy and heavy. Sometimes it will rain suddenly for a short while. Then the hot sun is back in business. Making the humidity even higher. (-__-;;;)
This weather makes me feel weight down by the humidity and my own perspiration. I truly miss the cooler days. Will it come soon?
I always think military uniform is a very challenging sewing project. I still think so. I finished the pants, shirt and hat two weeks ago, the pattern is from Dollybird. But I still can’t find the crest and trimmings I would like for the hat and possibly a jacket…(T_T)
Guess I would have to cast my search further a field…meantime, here’s Shun, wearing the partial military outfit. Does he look like a character from manga/anime with his cream white wig, ear stubs and military outfit?
Once a while, I want to be fast in my sewing so I try to skip steps. Sometimes, the results turn out to be below my expectation. ―(T_T)
I was attracted by this brown printed fabric but the man-in-the-house thought the colour too dull. In my impatience to prove otherwise, I went straight to sewing. The result was a very simple but dull dress. ( >_<)
Disappointed, I left the dress in my project basket for some time. Unable to decide what to do with it.
Last month I received a box of sketching pencils from my sister. I was at a lost where to start as I haven’t drawn anything for a long time. ｢(ﾟﾍﾟ) Then I thought why not draw the outfits in my dollybird magazines first. After I have finished them, I proceeded to the outfits I like on the internet and in my manga. When I am sketching the outfit, I am also thinking through how I should sew the outfit.
Soon I have an idea for this dress. With the sketch done, I dismantled the dress and resewed it. Piece by piece. Step by step.
And this is the result. I’m happy with it and the man-in-the-house said it’s much better than before. (^_^) Lesson learnt.
I have been neglecting my hobbies for quite a while. I caught some flu bugs and have been under the weather. (´・｀) Have not come down with flu for quite some time…don’t like the feeling.
The weather has been dry and windy these months. We have seen very little rain since Jan. The plants are getting brown and lifeless. (-__-;) And flu is getting common.
Anyway, this is Leonie with nyanko sensei. If you read the manga, Natsume’s Book of Friends [夏目友人帳], you will be familiar with nyanko sensei. He is a mysterious and powerful ayakashi and also Natsume’s bodyguard. He usually adopts the form of a maneki neko (lucky cat) so Natsume calls him nyanko sensei. His favourite pastimes are eating, drinking and sleeping. (^_^) Good life, isn’t it?
